This page is called Open Inbox because it is exactly that. An open place for messages that do not fit neatly into categories. Questions that sit between disciplines. Thoughts that arrive half formed. If you are looking for a funnel, this is not it. If you are looking for a place where ideas are allowed to arrive quietly, you are in the right spot.

Sustainable Archaeology exists at the intersection of time, material, and consequence. The same is true of how we prefer to communicate. We are interested in messages that take a moment to think before they are sent, and in conversations that unfold rather than conclude quickly. The inbox is open because curiosity rarely follows a straight line.

Some people write to us about archaeology and preservation. Others write about diamonds, sourcing, ethics, and long term value. Occasionally the two meet in unexpected ways. We welcome that overlap. The site title is not an accident. It reflects a belief that how we study the past and how we evaluate objects of value are part of the same larger conversation.

There is no contact form here on purpose. Forms tend to flatten intention. Writing directly keeps the texture intact. You do not need to know exactly what you want to say before you begin. A single paragraph is enough. So is a long letter. Both belong here.

If you disagree with something we have written, that is also welcome. Disagreement handled with care is one of the fastest ways to sharpen understanding. This inbox is not a support desk and not a comment section. It is closer to correspondence, where tone matters as much as content.

If you are unsure whether to write, that hesitation is a good sign. It usually means the question is worth asking. When you are ready, the inbox remains open. Messages are read thoughtfully and answered when there is something meaningful to add. That pace is intentional.
